The waitress indicated she found the receipt and that the next day I could pick it up. I indicated my mom could do so for me because I was working that day.
They have a bar as well but I have not used that portion of the restaurant so I cannot comment on it other than it looks very nice.
The price point is higher than the typical Chinese restaurant in Clarksville, but let’s be honest ... typical Chinese food in Clarksville is pretty disappointing. HK Wok does not disappoint however and I highly recommend it if you want quality Asian food for takeout or a comfy sit down restaurant.
The second thing is that before this experience sometimes we would get great food and sometimes we would get subpar food at the restaurant and that was disappointing. Like maybe there are two cooks?
This place is owned and run by the daughter of the lady who used to own and cook at May’s Wok at Governor Square Mall. If you had eaten at May’s Wok before she retired then you know that her food was delicious. Her daughter’s food is no less delectable.
The thing is I had called right after I left the restaurant and arrived home, informed the waitress that I threw my receipt away and asked her if she could find my receipt and clarify if I had been charged for the to go order I did not receive.
I asked, I wasn't sure.
By far the worst tasting Chinese food I have ever had. The food is so dry, and on all honesty I thought the general tsos chicken could of been a three day old mcnugget from Mcdonald’s. Not enough portion for the price. That price should of gotten me double the trash that I got.
After this I have not gone again.
Not only is the food of good quality, but it is presented in a pretty way as well. The dishes are of Asian design and portions on them are served in an aesthetically pleasing manner. The decor is equally nice without being over the top or cheesy like many Asian restaurants can be.
In any case I don't want to go back.
The cooking style, while on par with May’s Wok, is comprised of different recipes. There may be similar dishes but they all have a signature taste unique to Hong Kong Wok. This is not to say that they are any less appealing to the palate. They are very well done and delicious.
My mom says she came in to an inquisition; the owner, his wife, all the servers were there lined up to say that we were falsely accusing the waitress who has been in their employ for a long time and that we were trying to take advantage of THEM...-_-
I ordered while dining in and my to go order was not there when I got home so I called the restaurant and asked if I was charged for my order or if they forgot to give it to me because they did not add it to my order.
Delicious food in a great atmosphere. Caring owner who makes sure food and service is top notch
This treatment soured my view on the restaurant.
I loved the place to but two things have kept me from coming recently-
Food is always amazing. But I dined in only two servers on and wait for the food was one hour. Sat down a 7PM. This is Chinese after all, unacceptable wait. However I recommend Sunday afternoons. Low wait time and food is delicious.
