Many empty tanks, quite a few of the reptile tanks were sad to see due to the environments, yet we are told the reptiles get purchased quickly.
Cool to look at though.
We only visited once and it is not where it needs to be for a commercial operation as far as we can tell.
whrn i asked to handle a few of the snakes the guy in there seemed to show little respect for the snakes. The lavender retic in there he said i quote "just throw it back in there, hes tuff". and then there was a corn snake in there that he said was not very nice and not handleable and i could see why when he aggressivly pulled the snake out of where he was. On top of that after a few minutes of me handling this particular corn it calmed down and started to relax. So yeah maybe that corn snake wouldnt be so aggressive and unhandleable if the guy didnt treat it like it was nothing.
Nice place selection limited but it's small business so I understand that. The guy working did ask me if I need help and answered most much questions. But to busy talking to someone else the whole time I was there. I need more answers but did feel like getting in between him and his friend. 3 stars because still nice local business and I always try to support them. I'm editing my review after year of shopping here I have to say don't judge book by the cover. The only place I go for saltwater supplies and fish corals.
We will drive the extra 45 minutes plus to the Aquatic Critter for our peace of mind.
The staff seems friendly and helpful if needed.
Looks to be a reef and reptile shop that has good aspirations, just never got off the ground for whatever reason.
Edit*This place has come a long way since my first review, and its doing alot better now. Now my go-to for fish. Definitely the best place for feeder fish around.
That being said, you may find what you are looking for here.
Has potential if people get excited and want to put in the work.
The shop needs a lot of work to be a top notch reef shop or reptile shop.
Love this place! Staff were all amazing and very informative making sure we were getting a lizard that meet our needs. Great selection, everything was clean, and the animals all looked well taken care of. I had alot of questions and the staff was very happy to spend the time answering all of them.
