Dr. Brandon was not rude, I did not have to wait very long, and the during the appointment he was attentive and seemed to be confident in his diagnosis. However, I told Dr. Brandon that I was currently taking Flonase, an over the counter nasal spray for my seasonal allergies, to which he wrote me a prescription for QNASL. QNASL is not covered my most insurance plans and is actually quite expensive. Even with the discount card he provided (Which, if used, voids the user's right to sue the company which produces QNASL) One month's supply of QNASL was over $80. Compared to the relatively cheap Flonase which works better than QNASL in my case. (Dr. Brandon gave me a sample to try before filling the prescription.) Why would a doctor prescribe a prescription corticosteroid to a patient who is already taking an over the counter corticosteroid of equal effectiveness? If you ever go to Dr. Brandon, do not let him UPSELL you on the drugs of his choice, as doctors get kickbacks and freebies for pushing whatever the pharmaceutical reps wheel through the door.
Dr. Brandon was perfectly pleasant to talk with, however was not able to diagnose or determine the cause of my son's hearing loss.. he was able to tell us what it was not, which is somewhat helpful. He suggested that we see a hearing specialist in Nashville and I was told that his office would schedule the appointment. Three weeks later, not having heard anything from any medical offices, I called Dr. Brandon's office again to see if the scheduling of my son's appointment had been overlooked. Apparently it had. Following up my call this morning, Dr. Brandon's nurse called me, this morning to say that my son's appointment with Dr. Bennett had been scheduled for mid February. When I talked with Dr. Bennett's office to confirm the appointment, I was told that the appointment had just been scheduled this morning. Dr. Brandon's nurse waited three weeks and apparently needed a reminder call from us to get my son's appointment scheduled. I had really been hoping that my son could be seen by a specialist over winter break. Now, because Dr. Brandon's nurse waited so long to schedule, my son will have to miss a day of school in order to get to his appointment. I am disappointed. The nurse did not apologize for having forgotten or for the delay, either.
These other two reviews were written by idiots. Dr. Brandon is a great, caring, knowledgeable, compassionate ENT. He gives no false hope, tells it like it is, & his staff does fine. If he cannot help you, he will get you to someone who can. He has treated my family well for many years. It is YOUR JOB to call & make sure you (or especially your child) have a follow-up appointment. If you are already on every other nasal spray on earth, he was just trying to help you, not upsell a product.
