As a first time home buyer I was extremely hesitant in trusting just anyone to be my realtor. Luckily for me, my close friends had just returned to Fort Campbell, bought a house and swore up and down that if I were to buy I'd definitely have to work with Melinda. As soon as my orders to Fort Campbell were cut I immediately got in touch with Melinda. I thought she'd have her hands full with me as I was very picky with the area where I wanted to live, the square footage, the floor plan and even the color of the cabinets and flooring. Surprisingly Melinda was very patient with me and walked me through the entire process sharing her vast knowledge and experience with me every step of the way. Even after closing Melinda remains just a call or text away and has continued to follow up with me and has become a valued friend. The Army is a small community and Fort Campbell is a base that is always getting new soldiers and I will gladly recommend all of those looking to buy property to work with Melinda as she has helped turn houses into homes.
Normally I would not write a review but because our experience buying and selling a home has been all over the place, I thought someone could benefit from some honest feedback when making the decision to buy/sell a home in the area. My wife and I decided to sell our home and purchase a new home for our growing family. We decided that we would use a realtor that was a business associates spouse originally and to say that was a nightmare would be an understatement! Our experience with the old agent was so horrible that we literally almost pulled the plug on the whole thing.....We decided to terminate our contract with him and pull the for sale sign out of the yard...... This decision was not cheap or easy but had to be done. To summarize that experience in one word, I would say it was "Stressful". We were at the point of walking away from everything and our dream of owning a home with property in the country but we were introduced to Melinda.
She was very clear in that she would find us a house that was as good or better and that she would do anything and everything possible to ensure my family was taken care of. I trusted her, trust her and will always value her friendship. Melinda is the real estate agent that others should try to be. I could not recommend her enough and will always be thankful for everything she has done for me and my family!!!
The water issue we had could be talked about for hours with everything that had happened but to give you an idea of how much Melinda worked for us, I would tell you that she had done so much research on private wells that she could probably go get her well drillers license! She literally spent countless hours calling/emailing state inspectors, well drillers, water facilities, etc..... talking to them about our issue all the while keeping us in the loop with what was going on and what she found. There was a point where I thought the sellers were not going to fix the problem and any normal person would be freaking out having the possibility to pack everything back up, the 2 kids and the wife (who is 8 months pregnant) and find temporary housing until finding another home, but we were not really that concerned with Melinda on our side.
Melinda had our house sold in about 30 days and had us into the perfect home at the EXACT time we needed to be. She negotiated the purchase perfectly to ensure my family was given ample time to move in the new home, out of the old home and close on both properties. I know that this was not easy but she did not let that show in anyway. Even after we got into our new home before closing, using something called early occupancy, Melinda kept in contact with us every single day to make sure we were kept in the loop. We actually had a major issue arise at the new home that no one could foresee with our private well. It was really awesome knowing I could actually trust someone to work out these serious issues on my behalf and not having to be concerned on their other motives.
Melinda walked into a situation that I would imagine would be a bit concerning as a real estate agent. As I mentioned before, we were treated horribly and had a really bad taste in our mouth for the whole process and were very apprehensive to entrusting someone else in making these huge decisions. Melinda came into this situation guns blazing with a no BS attitude. She was VERY clear in what she wanted and what she needed from us through every step of the way. She was always available, always knowledgeable and GENUINELY concerned for my wife and family's well being.
Melinda is one of the nicest most helpful person my family and I have had the pleasure meeting. She was an awesome lady to work with. She helped us in areas we didn't even think about. The entire experience of buying a home can be a bit overwhelming, but Melinda made it so simple and pain free. If we are ever in the market again you can bet we will be giving her a call.
